TITLE:           "White Irises"
MEDIUM:       Acrylic on watercolor paper
SIZE:             10 1/4 x 14 1/4"

COMMENTS:  Painting white flowers can be fun. These white irises with golden yellow in the petals were in bright sunlight. The challenge for me was to paint them in such a way to show that strong light. I started this painting when the flowers were in bloom and put it away for several months. Recently everything came together and the colors really started to sing, i.e., work well together. My paintings are first and foremost about colors.

The painting is done on  watercolor paper and can be framed with or without a mat. A white mat would make the colors especially brilliant and make a larger size piece of fine art.
