TITLE:           "Together As One"

MEDIUM:       Mixed Media on watercolor paper

COMMENTS: This sunflower painting was started after completing a similar painting, "Many Though One". The kind of sunflower fascinated me because of the several flower heads all on one main stalk! I again used bright colors and contrasted soft and hard edge paint applications of watercolors and acrylics for this subject. 

Before starting the painting the phrase "together as one" came to mind, and I thought how apt a title for the painting. I knew that as a familiar phrase in the New Testament of the Bible especially in the prayer of Jesus for his disciples that they would be one as He is one with the Father, John 17:23.  What a wealth of meaning that lends to this painting when you consider how many different churches express their faith in Jesus yet remain separate from each other!
