TITLE:           "Opening Sunflower"

COMMENTS: This year the sunflowers in my yard started to bloom very late in the season because I didn't plant them as early as I usually do. It is so exciting when the first sunflower starts to unfold each petal to finally open out to a round seed head encircled with brilliant golden yellow petals. As the unfolding begins the bees readily swarm around the sunflower heads gathering pollen. I painted the colors of the background in dark greens to accentuate the light coming through the petals.
