TITLE:           "Sunflower Petals"

MEDIUM:       Oil on wrapped canvas

SIZE:             9 x 12 x 3/4" 

COMMENTS:  The petals of sunflowers draw your attention with their burst of golden yellows, but the folds of individual petals can also be intriguing to draw and to paint. I enjoyed focusing on those design lines and shapes while using a variety of yellow pigments. I love to play with colors and basic shapes in an image. This small painting is one of the results of my having fun with colors. 

The wrapped canvas over wood stretcher bars eliminates the need for staples on the sides of the painting. I painted the edges and the painting can be displayed with or without a frame.
