TITLE:           "Rural Changes"

COMMENTS:  For many years I passed by this alfalfa field with the barns up on a small hill. I started to paint my recollections of the place but it turned into a painting about the changes in so many northwest farms where flowers are grown now for retail markets. Grasslands have changed into organic vegetable and flower acreages. Farmers who have adjusted to the changes in market demand remain in business. The subject is a composite of farms in the Williamette Valley of Oregon and the Skagit Valley of Washington. 

The painting is ready to hang. No frame necessary.
