This original painting, "Mountain Lake in Autumn", of colorful autumn foliage contrasting with dark evergreen trees is a composite of the mountain lakes of Oregon and Washington. The cool blue colors of the water reflect the warm yellows and oranges of the fall leaves in the light.

The composition lines and colors express the peacefulness and quiet of undeveloped lakes.  The hike into the lake is worth the effort.
